Khenpo Jamyang Choedrak Receives Warm Welcome at Kharchu Centre Australia

Kharchu Centre Australia was delighted to welcome Khenpo Jamyang Choedrak to its centre in Carwoola, New South Wales, following his appointment as the Resident Khenpo and Resident Lama of Kharchu Centre Australia by the parent monastery, Lhodrak Kharchu Monastery in Bhutan.

Arrival at Kharchu Centre Australia

Kharchu Centre Australia was delighted to welcome Khenpo Jamyang Choedrak to its centre in Carwoola, New South Wales, following his appointment as the Resident Khenpo and Resident Lama of Kharchu Centre Australia by the parent monastery, Lhodrak Kharchu Monastery in Bhutan.

Upon his arrival, Khenpo Jamyang was warmly received by the President and members of the Management Committee of Kharchu Centre Australia. He was then respectfully escorted to the Centre's main shrine hall (Lhakhang), where a traditional welcome ceremony was held.

Traditional Welcome Ceremony

Following the Buddhist tradition, Khenpo Jamyang first paid homage to the throne of Kyabje Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche before offering prostrations and prayers at the main altar. A Marchang ceremony was then conducted to mark the auspicious occasion, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony attended by members and devotees.

On behalf of Kharchu Centre Australia, the President delivered a formal welcome address. He warmly welcomed Khenpo Jamyang to the Centre and congratulated him on his appointment as the Resident Khenpo and Resident Lama of Kharchu Centre Australia.

The President noted that Khenpo Jamyang's appointment reflects the trust and confidence placed in him by the parent monastery and expressed his gratitude to Lhodrak Kharchu Monastery for selecting and sending such a qualified teacher to Australia.

Community Welcome and Good Wishes

The President further wished Khenpo Jamyang a successful and fulfilling period of service at Kharchu Centre Australia. The President conveyed that the Executive Committee, the Management Committee, and the Bhutanese community living in Canberra and the surrounding areas look forward to working closely with Khenpo Jamyang in supporting the vision and activities of Kyabje Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche. Together, they hope to support Kyabje Rinpoche in serving the Bhutanese community and other devotees, and in further promoting the study, practice, and preservation of Buddha Dharma in Australia.

The ceremony concluded with the serving of traditional Bhutanese suja (butter tea) and dresi (sweet saffron rice). Members and devotees had the opportunity to meet Khenpo Jamyang personally, offer their respects, and extend their best wishes for his successful service in Australia.

Kharchu Centre Australia extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in this auspicious occasion and joins in offering prayers for Khenpo Jamyang's long life, good health, and successful activities for the flourishing of Buddha Dharma and the benefit of all sentient beings.
